Active participation and leadership in youth and young adult ministries Member of the Elder Board at Mariners Church Missions trips in South Africa, Mexico, Peru, Louisiana (Katrina) and multiple trips to Haiti
They have been married for 30 years and have two grown children. Brooke and Zack are both married to wonderful spouses and college graduates.
Brent currently divides his time between land development consulting and working with Bob Shank at The Master’s Program. The Master’s Program trains and mentors Christian leaders to help them find their call and use it to bring significance to God’s Kingdom. Terry also works at The Master’s Program as a Campus Director. Terry also has an exciting ministry to young women. She leads a bible study with them and mentors each of them through the challenges that they face.
Both Brent and Terry have a passion for couples and their marriages. Seen as a key foundational element, a successful marriage is one that blesses the family, the church and the community. In a culture where so many marriages are challenges or failing, they see the desperate need for mentoring. Standing Stone provides the that opportunity to mentor couples one to one in a safe setting with the goal to bless that marriage for God’s Glory.
For fun, they enjoy travel, snow and water skiing, bike riding and anything with their kids.

They have raised three daughters, each married and all serving the Lord in different capacities, their oldest daughter is a missionary with her husband in St. Petersburg, Russia. Dick and Carol have eight grandchildren.
Dick and Carol understand what pastoring a church is like, Dick was asked to explain what pastoring a church was like, he anwered “It’s like having a job hand feeding squirrels, they are delightful, but hard to draw close to you, you can’t make any harsh moves or sounds or they will scatter, you have to carefully hold out your hands with the food of life, and every once in awhile they bite, but the pain is worth the pleasure of being close to them and serving them.”
Pastors and their wives can take marriage and ministry pitfalls too much to heart and lose the balance of marriage, family and the fun of life. Life tools, coupled with a sense of humor is critical for maintaing those balances. “Humor is an ointment for lifes rashes.”
Dick and Carol love sports, fun, laughter, people, traveling and serving God’s Kingdom by using the gifts He has uniquely given to them.
