Director of Ministry
Ken has served in pastoral ministry for 42 years and has planted three churches over that period of time. He has served in multiple ministry positions including lead and executive pastor. His wealth of pastoral experience and relational connections with ministry leaders across the United States has prepared and equipped him to successfully direct the ministry efforts of Standing Stone.
Ken’s passion in ministry is building up the emotional and relational health of ministry leaders and the churches they serve. He has been helping pastors strategically build bridges to connect their churches to their communities by emphasizing the value of ministering to married couples struggling in their relationships.
Before joining Standing Stone’s team, Ken, and his wife Leslie, served as directors of Marriage Growers International. As marriage educators and counselors, they have helped thousands of couples around the country and different parts of the world experience the joy and benefit of walking in unity and true partnership in their relationships.
Ken has been happily married to Leslie for 37 years and loves working with her in this ministry.
Director of Communications
As a pastor’s wife for 37 years, Leslie is well versed in the struggles that ministry wives face on a daily basis. She has often referred to them as the true heroes in the church today. Because of the “fishbowl” and “24/7” nature of ministry, Leslie is committed to building a support network for ministry wives that offers a safe and caring environment to process their hurts, frustrations, and disappointments brought on by the unique challenges of being married to a pastor. Leslie believes it is crucial that we come alongside these women and keep them from becoming a ministry casualty.
Leslie has served the church as a Children’s Director, Women’s Ministry Director, and a teacher in Christian schools. As the Director of Communications Leslie uses her gift of writing to share the mission of Standing Stone, as well as insights into ministry life, through blog posts, articles, letters, and social media. In addition to their director roles, Leslie and her husband, Ken, serve as Shepherds and Retreat Shepherds.
Before joining Standing Stone Leslie and Ken co-directed Marriage Growers International. They have had the privilege of encouraging thousands of married couples domestically and internationally, helping them to increase their levels of partnership, unity, closeness, and satisfaction, which are vital to the health and longevity of marriage.
Leslie and Ken have three grown children and four grandsons. They feel privileged to be working in this crucial ministry together.
Jim and Debbie Hogan have worked together in ministry for over twenty years. In 1985 Jim was elected to the elder board of one of the largest churches in the nation located in Orange County, California. In 1988 he became chairman of its board and the next year he became the Executive Administrator of the church, a position he held for five years. Jim was in charge of 150 employees including fifteen associate pastors and one of his roles was being the pastor to those pastors. Through this experience, Jim and Debbie discovered firsthand the demands placed upon those in full-time ministry.
During this same period Debbie was the teaching leader and “Titus Mom” for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), a position she held for eleven years. Currently she is a guest speaker for MOPS groups throughout Southern California and she has also had the privilege of being a mentor to many of the young mothers who attended her classes. In addition, she has been involved with many women’s ministries and charities in Orange County.
Jim graduated from The Master’s Program, a three-year program developed in 1999 by Bob Shank which is designed to coach Christian leaders who want to change their life from being successful to being significant for God’s kingdom. Debbie is a graduate of The Partner’s, a ministry for spouses of those in The Master’s Program. During the time they were in these programs, Jim and Debbie developed a vision to encourage those serving in full-time ministry. They began operating Standing Stone Ranch in Southwest Colorado in 2002, where they hosted ministry couples for one week retreats which were designed to establish lasting mentor/mentoree relationships. In 2011 they founded Standing Stone Ministries in order to serve a greater number of ministry leaders and their spouses. In 2013, the Hogans wrote Shepherding, Shepherds: The Standing Stone Story.
Jim and Debbie were married in 1969. They have two married sons and six grandchildren. They live Orange County, CA.
Jim and Debbie Hogan have a deep passion to mentor and serve ministry couples who have dedicated their lives to serving others. They consider it a great privilege to be part of Standing Stone Ministry as they help to shepherd the shepherds.
