Our Retreat Shepherds
The most important aspect of being a Standing Stone Retreat Shepherd is having the passion and desire to shepherd shepherds. Each of our Retreat Shepherds have been trained and certified by Standing Stone Ministry. Although some are professional therapists or licensed counselors, all of our Retreat Shepherds have years of ministry and life experience which they make available to any pastoral couple needing a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment in which they can express and work through the challenges and struggles they face.
Our Retreat Shepherds have come to see their roles as a God-given privilege to help shepherd shepherds. They offer their services humbly and consider it an honor to help bolster, encourage, and love struggling pastoral couples so that they might develop a longstanding, effective, and fulfilling ministry. As much as possible, the Retreat Shepherds offer insights and tools drawn from their own experience—mostly to help the pastoral couple begin to believe that there is a way through and beyond the current chaos or complexities of their lives.
Standing Stone Retreat Shepherds have years of ministry experience so they really “get it”, allowing them to intimately relate with ministry couples. These Shepherds have the wisdom to understand they don’t have all the answers, but they do know the “God who does” and are ready to stand with these ministry couples in prayer.
