Bruce and Margie Campbell are high school sweethearts, both born and raised in the farming community of Holtville, California, situated in Southern California’s Imperial Valley. Bruce felt a strong call to ministry shortly after high school graduation, and subsequently graduated from Biola University and Talbot Seminary, with degrees in Social Science with a Missions Emphasis, and a Master of Divinity. Margie also felt very called to be a pastor’s wife. After they married in 1975, she spent 4 years working on Biola’s campus, awarded with an honorary PHT, “Putting Hubby Through” award.
Bruce was youth pastor in Cerritos, CA., before they moved to their first senior pastorate position in Honolulu, HI in 1979. They ministered at the First Evangelical Free Church of Hawaii in Honolulu for 11 years. In 1990, they moved to Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii to church plant Grace Community Church, an Evangelical Free Church. In 2007, Grace Community moved into their newly constructed facility, a labor of love on a rugged lava rock hillside turned into a peaceful sanctuary for Jesus’ followers.
