Dan is a lifelong resident of Iowa. Like many "Iowanians", he grew up on a farm where hard work was a normal part of daily life. This way of life allowed Dan to have a diversified skill set and vocational interests. He has been a farmer, seed salesman, owner of his own construction company, pastor, associate pastor, youth pastor, engineer, computer programmer and quality manager.
He graduated from Ozark Christian College & Iowa Christian College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sacred Literature. Dan went back to school later in life and obtained his Associates Degree in Computer Science.
Dan has a passion for youth ministry and has dedicated his life to serving in that capacity, whether in the paid or volunteer side of that ministry. Dan's diversified background has allowed him to volunteer much time to his passion for ministry. These volunteer efforts have included; working with Group Workcamps, missions trip to Cambodia, working as a youth leader, serving as an elder, chairman of the board, and secretary of the board in his Timothy Church for over 17 years.

Dan has been married 36 years to his lovely wife Cheryl. Dan and Cheryl have 3 children - Johnathan, Sonya, Monissa. They also have 5 grandchildren who they absolutely adore.
Dan brings to Standing Stone over 35 years of experience as a pastor and youth pastor; over 20 years experience in Church administration and a lifelong passion for volunteering. Dan's life verse is found in James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Dan's volunteer work earned him the dubious honor of being named "Person of the Year" in 2017 by his community. In keeping with Dan's volunteer efforts, he will be volunteering with Standing Stone.
