Darwin received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1979, at the age of 18, and was baptized a few months later. He was called by God into ministry as a vocation in 1983. His life verse is Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Having grown up in Gilbert Arizona, Darwin married his high school sweetheart, Linda. They are now celebrating 40+ years of marriage. Darwin and Linda are parents of 2 adult children, Matt, and Melissa, and have been blessed with a daughter-in-law Jill, a son-in-law Will, along with seven grandchildren: Kristen, Caleb, Carson, Sam, Abbie, Lilly, and Caroline.
Darwin has served local churches for the past 36 years - 10 years as a Student Pastor, and 26 years in a Senior Pastor role. Since 2012, Darwin has been passionately following God’s call to mentor and encourage pastors, staff members and ministry leaders. In addition to working closely with God’s servants on an individual basis, Darwin has led workshops, seminars, and conferences, while also facilitating pastor roundtables - all with the purpose of forming meaningful, lasting relationships, and ministry partnerships, with those God has called to fulfill his mission in their unique context and setting.
Darwin received his undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, Texas in Business Administration, a Masters’ degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas in Christian Education, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky with a concentration in Leadership.
For rest and relaxation, Darwin enjoys jogging, hiking, swimming, spending time with grandkids, hosting family and friends in their home, watching sports, and being actively involved in the community where he and Linda reside.
