Born into a pastor’s home Jackie has experienced a lifetime of Christian ministry influence providing her an early introduction to the unique dynamics of churches and pastors’ families. She attended Spring Arbor College earning a degree in elementary education and taught 3rd grade and preschool for over 20 years. She and Gary have been married for over four decades and together served in a variety of ministries, including a Christian school and as part of several church leadership teams. They currently live in Indianapolis and have two grown children and eight grandsons.
In addition to life experience, God has given Jackie a special heart for women. Over the years she has had many opportunities to mentor and teach women formally and informally. Most recently she has been a MOPS mentor mom and also led a small group of young moms focusing on Christian marriage and child rearing. Watching these women learn together and build the bonds of a support group has been very fulfilling.
“It can truly be lonely at the top and not always easy to share your husband’s time and energy with those in your congregation. It is also difficult to find friends who see you as an individual rather than the pastor’s wife. Having someone who understands and who confidentially listens can be a breath of fresh air and encouraging to know that you are not alone!”
Jackie’s hobbies include photography, reading, hiking, travel and exploring new places with Gary.
