John claims Texas as his home, but has lived in South Carolina for the past 13 years. With a degree in education from West Texas A&M and and an MDiv. from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, John has served on staff of four churches in the areas of music, youth, children, and care. He also served with his wife, Linda, and their children as missionaries with the International Mission Board. Serving in Brazil, John, Linda, and their children, were able to experience firsthand what is was like to be a shepherd who needed shepherding when his mother passed away suddenly in December of 2000. John found himself in a state of depression while serving overseas after his mother died, but the IMB had member care specialists who helped John and Linda through the grief experience. “It not only saved our ministry, but I believe it ultimately saved our marriage and since that day we have known that we would end up helping couples deal with the pressures and struggles of being in ministry.”
John and Linda have been married over 30 years, and live in Spartanburg, SC. They have 3 children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and 2 doodles.
“One of our greatest joys is serving together in ministry.”
