God has used the past 20+ years of Scotty’s life experiences to prepare him for the role of “shepherding the shepherds.” Being a source of encouragement and support for ministry leaders and pastors, along with their spouses, is a high calling and desperately needed, more than ever since the pandemic of 2020. Scotty has served in church ministry for 12+ years on pastoral staff and 15+ years as a lay leader through Bible studies and small groups. He and his wife Amy have seen and personally experienced the pain of adultery, burnout, isolation, dysfunctional church leadership, unrealistic expectations, and other struggles that come with vocational ministry, yet God has faithfully sustained them through it all.
Since 2005, Scotty has served on church leadership as a youth pastor, children’s pastor, family pastor, and campus pastor. Scotty has also counseled hundreds of individuals and couples since 2002. The LORD has formed in Scotty a shepherd’s heart that is evidenced by his deep passion to care for those who are hurting. He desires to see pastors and ministry leaders, and their spouses, have a healthy soul, loving and faithful marriage, children who love Jesus and the church, and a flourishing ministry.
Scotty enjoys running and has been blessed to complete 5 marathons. Soccer has also been a huge part of his life since age 7, including traveling overseas for soccer mission trips to Mexico, England, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. He loves dogs and has two, Elly and Buddy, being outdoors, deer hunting, freshwater fishing, and spending time with his wife Amy of 24 years (1997) watching their kids (Caleb, Collin and Claire) play sports at school.
