Wendy Guerrero was raised in a Christian home but it wasn’t until adulthood that she truly surrendered and started walking a life of forgiveness both for herself and those in her life. She is a women’s Bible study teacher and worship leader and her husband Carlos is a pastor at a church in Santa Ana, California. Their church has a ministry that includes an assisted living community, gang members, the homeless of Orange County and “Laundry Love” where they provide quarters, prayer and the lessons of Christ at 2 locations. She also shares in teaching a “Marriage Matters” class with her husband.
In her early adulthood Wendy was bound by drugs and toxic surroundings and living a life of abuse both physically and mentally that caused deep scarring, anxiety, anger and un-forgiveness. For many years this affected her life and relationships (even after her lifestyle changed). She lives with the understanding that only when she fully surrendered her heart and trust to Jesus and lived a life of walking in forgiveness and obedience to her heavenly Father did she find His perfect peace.
Wendy has a deep love and longing to show pastors’ wives and leaders that there is always hope and that they are not alone. She cares for and desires to give pastors a safe harbor and friendship with no judgment where they are able to be transparent.
She absolutely loves the Pittsburgh Steelers and is a tomboy at heart (a daddy’s girl). She loves to cook and spend time with her blended family and Labrador retriever named Ranger. She and her husband love and learn from their kids; Russell (24, newly married and living in Kuwait), Gracie (21) and Eddie (16).
Wendy considers her husband her best friend and shares, "How we met was a miracle and our marriage has stood on Christ our Rock! He brought us together for a very special purpose: to serve Him and His people. Of course, I wanted to throw in the towel on numerous occasions over our years of ministry and would have if we didn’t have our own Shepherds to lean on during those trying times.”
Their foundation scripture is: Colossians 1:28-29
“So, we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.”
