Within the context of a shifting religious tide in the country, the picture is not good for America’s shepherds. Current body of statistics report pastoral burnout and attrition concerns occur at similar or greater levels than identified by H.B. London and others in 2003. These issues appear to be universal across denominational, non-denominational, and inter-cultural churches nation-wide as well as overseas.
This infographic by Seedbed Publishing lists statistics on church burnout found in H.B. London’s book Pastors at Greater Risk. The Infographic reports that “57% would leave the pastorate if they had somewhere else to go or another way to make a living.” cf. Seedbed Publishing via Bright Ideas blog
